A delightful month!

I rented the Stone Cottage for the month of December, to be near my family in Fairfield. Arlene and Gerard obviously take much pride in their cottage, appointing it with comfortable and ample furniture, and a handsome, updated bathroom. The grounds are nothing less than spectacular,with 3 acres of mown grass and gardens, tennis courts, and a pool. I felt as though I was living in an English country cottage. This rental is unique and very special, as are its owners! —Cathy C.

An idyllic home away from home!

We stayed in the cottage for three wonderful months with our 10 month old son, and could not have been more comfortable. The cottage itself is cozy and well-equipped (we loved the beds and the kitchen supplies!) while the grounds are absolutely stunning with immaculate gardens, a lovely pool and lounge area and deer that frequently wander through the orchards. Arlene and Gerard are attentive, kind and generous hosts; they made us feel welcome, shared local tips and were always available to help with whatever we needed. Upon our arrival, the house was stocked with basics that made it easy to settle in and from the first day onward, We were in love! Spectacular estate and grounds…picturesque!   

My husband and I rented Arlene and Gerard's cottage for over a year from October 2015 through November 2016 while we were building our home. We have two children in college who came home for holidays and for the summer and the property was just perfect! I actually hated to leave! 

Arlene and Gerard are meticulous about their home and their property and everything is ALWAYS to perfection! Gerard is a gifted gardener and his gardens have been on many area Garden Tours. The property is so peaceful and serene yet close to everything you could need or want in Fairfield County, and just a 5 minute drive to the Fairfield Train station if you want to go into NYC. If you rent from Arlene and Gerard, you will never want to leave. This is one of those VERY special places you rarely come across. —Kris T.

Cozy and comfortable with great location.

This was our second time staying in Arlene and Gerard's Gardener's Cottage. It was the meeting place for family over the Christmas holidays and we could not have had a better stay. The place is cozy and comfortable with everything you need for a home away from home. The town of Fairfield provided convenient shopping and good restaurants just a few miles away and the train to NYC was right near by as well. Christmas and New Year's in Connecticut

What a wonderful and magical place to stay over Christmas and New Year's. The cottage was charming, cozy, comfortable and very well appointed, just the kind of home away we were looking for to spend time with our loved ones. Our hosts, Arlene and Gerard could not have been more accommodating and friendly. They greeted us with a bottle of champagne and invited us to their spectacular barn just a few yards away the night before we left to sit by a roaring fire and toast the new year. Perfect stay.

My wife and I stayed at Arlene and Gerard's cottage for about 5 weeks while we were looking for a new house, after relocating to the area. They are the best hosts you could possibly have, and the cottage is absolutely perfect. The second bedroom came in handy when our daughter visited us from college, and we were glad to have a garage space when it snowed! Amazing is not enough

I was in CT for work and staying here instead of a corporate hotel was AWESOME! The property is gorgeous, impeccable, clean. If you were a guest at Martha Stewart's CT house, this could be it! Arlene was also the sweetest host, I got sick during my stay and she brought me tea and honey AND The Sunday Times, could not have felt more at home! If I ever need to come back I'll be staying here again for sure. Also important to note, the garden is stunning, such a beautiful environment with great attention to detail.  —Nina J.

Perfectly lovely cottage.

The gardener's cottage is perfect for a short or extended stay. We stayed at the cottage for 9 nights, and every day we commented about how comfortable, well equipped and lovely the cottage and surrounding grounds are. While we did not meet the owner, every interaction we had with Arlene was a pleasure. The cottage and property are better than shown in the pictures. We will always look to stay here first on our future trips to Fairfield County. —Cindy M.

Wonderful choice over conventional hotels

I recently completed a six week stay in the cottage during a relocation to the area. I chose the cottage over a long term hotel alternative and it was the best possible choice. The cottage is amazing, with luxury bed and bath amenities. It's absolutely peaceful while being close to downtown Fairfield and the Merritt Parkway. Arlene and her husband are excellent hosts and took care of every need. The property is beautiful as well and so are the surrounding neighborhoods. There is no comparison to a hotel - this is the only way to stay and have an atmosphere to relax and recover whether from work or sightseeing. 100% recommendation! —Eric C.

My family and I enjoyed our time at the Gardener's Cottage. We had everything we needed, including hosts who were available to help us in any way. The property is incredible.
